My Year of Prakash Raj

Some people spend a year
cooking Julia Child's recipes, or following all of the rules in the Bible, or reading books by people who spent a year doing something. My quest is to watch the 200-some films of South Indian character-actor-extraordinaire, Prakash Raj. (It'll probably take more than a year... and I'll post about some Prakash-less films here as well.)

Happy Halloween!

Yes, it's a new type of role:  Prakash O'Lantern!

(I'm not sure that the mustache is quite right, but  have a week to make a new one.)

Fun fact:  the Kannada word for pumpkin is Kumbalkayi, and I came across this recipe for pumpkin idli that looks ridiculously delicious.

  3. Sita-ji, thanks for stopping by and adding me to your blog roll. Knowing that people read the blog definitely gives me that push to post things!

Minai-don't those idlis look awesome? It would be an excuse to buy an idli steamer and all kinds of gear!

This is so terrific, I had to share it with others! A good Prakash Raj film to watch, Iruvar (Tamil). It is loosely based on the nefarious success of two of Tamil Nadu's Chief Ministers, MGR and Karunanidhi.

Hoping to see you soon at the movies,

    Mohan

  5. Hi Mohan, thanks for commenting--glad you like the "Prakash-squash." (Today, the squirrels ate most of it, which is almost as bad as any of Prakash Raj's on-screen deaths.) Iruvar is definitely on the list!
Hoping to see you at the movies, too!

  6. Love it!! The idea of an almost edible Prakash Raj always makes me LOL :P So Liz, do you have a final version of the stache, or did the squirrels get to it before you clicked it into immortality? :)
